The Indian Sapodilla (Manilkara zapota), also known as Chikoo, is a tropical evergreen tree native to Central America and India. It grows up to 15–30 meters tall and produces small, round fruits with rough brown skin. The sweet, grainy flesh has a flavor resembling brown sugar and pear. Rich in fiber and vitamins, sapodilla is eaten fresh or used in desserts. The tree thrives in tropical climates and well-drained, sandy soils.
