Seedless Mango

The Sindhu mango, known as “seedless,” features a very small pit that takes up less than 10% of the fruit’s weight, leaving more pulp. Developed in India by hybridizing Ratna and Alphonso mangoes, it is sweet, less fibrous, and weighs around 200 grams. This variety is ideal for consumption and export but is not entirely seed-free.
- Origin: Developed by Dr. Balasaheb Sawant at Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Maharashtra.
- Parentage: Hybrid of Alphonso and Ratna mangoes.
- Fruit: Medium-sized, juicy, rich flavor, very thin and small seed.
- Season: June to January.
- Climate: Thrives in tropical and subtropical regions.
- Soil: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil.
- Light: Full sun.
- Water: Regular watering, especially during fruiting season.
- Uses: Culinary, export markets.
