The Mango Ginger Plant is a herbaceous perennial with erect pseudostems, green leaves with a purple-brown midrib, and white rhizomes that taste like raw mango. It thrives in hot, humid tropical climates and well-drained, sandy loam soil.

- Leaves: Elliptical oblong to lanceolate, green with a purple-brown midrib.
- Rhizomes: Yellowish-brown on the outside, white on the inside, with a distinct raw mango flavor.
- Flowers: Pale yellow to white, borne on short spikes.
- Uses: Widely used in pickles, chutneys, and traditional medicine. The rhizomes are also used for their medicinal properties.
- Climate: Prefers hot, humid tropical climates with high rainfall.
- Soil: Thrives in sandy loam soil, well-drained and rich in organic matter.
- Cultivation: Propagated through rhizomes, requires regular watering and partial shade.
